Riding the Rapids is a 10 session group-based intervention for parents and carers of Autistic children and young people, children and young people with significant Learning Disabilities, and those on the pathway for Autism assessment.
Riding the Rapids supports parents and carers to understand their neurodivergent child’s stress and distress, understand their behaviour through a neurodivergent lens, make effective changes and reduce stress.
HAVEN in Schools is a training programme for educational staff in secondary school settings to develop knowledge and skills to set up HAVEN groups.
HAVEN stands for Hearing, Valuing, Accepting Every Neurotype.
HAVEN groups aim to give neurodivergent young people positive social experiences within their secondary school setting. Students are given opportunities to naturally build friendships within the groups.
Positive social connections are important for physical and mental well-being. Neurodivergent young people may make connections in different ways.
Both interventions have been developed by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, who hold the intellectual copyright, and has exclusively licensed Encompass Psychology to deliver training.
We provide training to professionals to be able to deliver these evidence based interventions.
